| Beschrijving keerzijde | Displayed double-headed imperial eagle with both heads crowned and surmounted by a large imperial crown, the wings spread and elaborately feathered. On the eagle's breast is affixed a crowned shield bearing the quartered arms of the Holy Roman Empire. The eagle holds a sword and sceptre in its talons. The surrounding legend, divided by the eagle's heads, reads IOSEPHVS II • D • G • - NOM • IMP • SEMP • AVG •, identifying the reigning Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II. The design conforms to the standard imperial eagle type used on German municipal coinage of the period. |
