Reverse description A finely engraved panoramic bird's-eye view of the city of Zürich dominates the field, depicting the Limmat river flowing through the city centre with recognisable church spires — including the Grossmünster and Fraumünster — flanking the riverbanks, bridges, fortifications, and densely packed civic buildings rendered in meticulous detail. A mythological river deity or sea creature appears in the lower exergual area. The Latin legend TIGURUM arches across the top of the coin, with the date 1739 inscribed in the lower exergue, all within a milled border.
