| Aanvullende informatie |
Sardinia's copper coinage under Philip III was administered largely through the Cagliari mint, which operated with chronic inefficiency and irregular supply throughout his reign. The island's economy ran almost entirely on small copper denominations — silver was hoarded or exported — leaving issues like this soldo to bear the full weight of everyday exchange. Philip III himself paid little attention to Sardinian monetary affairs, delegating governance to a succession of viceroys who frequently clashed with local merchants over currency debasement.
The CNI reference places this type among a loosely organized series with significant die variation across the 23-year emission window.
