Obverse description Crowned quartered oval shield, adorned on either side by upright palm branches, bearing the quarterly arms of Chalon and Neuchâtel with a central escutcheon displaying the Prussian eagle. The peripheral legend in Latin identifies the issuing sovereign, running along the full circumference of the coin. The heraldic composition is rendered in a classical Baroque style consistent with late 18th-century Germanic coinage.
