| Obverse description | Two standing female allegorical figures in high relief face one another at centre: the allegory of Zürich, wearing a mural crown and holding a sword at her side, embraces the allegory of Helvetia, who holds a shield bearing the Swiss cross in her left hand. A recumbent lion occupies the lower field, and an Alpine landscape is rendered in the background. The dates 1351–1901 appear in the lower field, with the maker's mark M.&W. at lower right. |
