| Obverse description | Central vignette shows a pastoral landscape with a large flock of sheep being herded across open grassland, mountains visible in the background under a wide sky, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. The bank title 中國人民銀行 is printed in horizontal letterpress at the top, with the denomination 伍仟圓 in an ornamental cartouche to the left.
