正面描述	Central vignette divided into two scenes: at left, tractors ploughing open farmland, and at right, an industrial factory complex with chimneys. The denomination 伍仟圓 is printed in large characters at centre, flanked by two red seal stamps. The bank title 中國人民銀行 appears at top in horizontal lettering, with the date 一九四九年 along the bottom margin, all printed in olive-green on a pale ground with decorative corner ornaments.

背面描述	The reverse is dominated by a large central guilloche rosette enclosing the numeral 5000 in bold letterpress, set within an elaborate framework of interlocking floral and scrollwork borders printed in dark blue-grey. The denomination 伍仟圓 appears in vertical panels at both left and right within ornate cartouches, and the bank title 中國人民銀行 is inscribed horizontally at top. The year 1949 is set in a decorative panel at the base of the central design.
