| Obverse description | The central field displays the full heraldic coat of arms of Uganda, featuring a shield supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) on the dexter side and a grey crowned crane on the sinister side, with a traditional drum and spear motif at the base and the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY on a scroll beneath. The date 19 95 is divided and positioned to either side of the shield at mid-field. The circular legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5000 SHILLINGS curves along the lower periphery. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
