备注

Bank Indonesia issued this note during a period of acute monetary pressure — by 1960, Indonesia's money supply had expanded dramatically under Sukarno's Guided Democracy, and high-denomination notes were increasingly necessary for routine transactions rather than large commercial ones. The 5000 Rupiah was among the highest values in circulation at the time.

De La Rue printed the series in London under contract, a common arrangement for newly independent nations that lacked domestic intaglio capacity. P#88 is catalogued as relatively scarce in higher circulated grades, likely reflecting both heavy use and the currency reforms that followed in the early 1960s — the 1965 redenomination wiped 1000 old Rupiah to 1 new, making most high-value notes of this type economically worthless overnight.
