正面描述 The national emblem of Tajikistan is set to the left within a scroll-like vignette against a teal guilloche underprint. At centre, a large denomination numeral '5000' over the inscription РУБЛ appears within an ornate cartouche, below which a banner ribbon carries the Tajik lettering ПАНЧ ХАЗОР. A scalloped rosette medallion is set to the upper right, with further denomination numerals in the lower corners, all rendered in multicolour letterpress on a light blue ground.

备注

Tajikistan's first national currency, the Tajik rouble, was introduced in May 1995 to replace the Russian rouble following the country's independence — but the notes themselves were printed earlier, hence the 1994 date on this series. The country was in the middle of a civil war when these entered circulation, and the denomination structure, reaching up to 100,000 roubles, reflected an inflationary environment inherited from the collapsing Soviet monetary system.

The Tajik rouble was itself short-lived, replaced by the somoni in 2000 at a rate of 1,000 roubles to one somoni.
