备注

The Georgian Democratic Republic, established after the collapse of the Russian Empire, issued its own currency beginning in 1919 as part of a broader assertion of independence that lasted only until the Soviet Red Army invaded in February 1921. The 5000 Rouble denomination reflects the inflationary pressures already gripping the Transcaucasus at that point — ordinary purchasing power had eroded badly enough that such a figure was needed for everyday transactions.

The Georgian rouble series was short-lived by necessity. Following the Soviet takeover, the notes were rapidly demonetized and replaced with Soviet currency, which kept surviving examples from accumulating in circulation for long.
