Mô tả mặt trước Within an open wreath of wheat ears tied at the base, the large denomination numeral '۵۰۰۰' (5000) is rendered in Eastern Arabic-Indic digits at center, with the word 'ریال' (Rials) inscribed below in the field. The legend 'جمهوری اسلامی ایران' (Islamic Republic of Iran) curves along the upper periphery in Arabic script. The overall design is bold and stylized, with the wheat sprigs framing the denomination on either side.

Thông tin bổ sung

Iran's central bank notes were experiencing severe depreciation by 2010, largely a consequence of compounding international sanctions and domestic monetary mismanagement. Issuing a 5,000 rial coin at this point was a pragmatic acknowledgment that the denomination, once meaningful, had been reduced by inflation to roughly the purchasing power of a fraction of a US cent. The rial had lost more than 99% of its value against hard currencies since the 1979 revolution.

KM#1277 saw limited penetration into everyday commerce, as Iranians had grown accustomed to conducting small transactions in "tomans" — a colloquial unit of 10 rials — and rounding conventions made exact coin use awkward at this value level.
