| Obverse description | Right-facing bare-headed portrait of King Pedro V in high relief occupies the central field, surrounded by a beaded inner border. The circular Latin legend reads around the periphery with the date 1859 in the lower exergue. A hole has been pierced at the top of the flan, indicating post-mint use as a pendant or jewelry piece. |
