Opmerkingen

Erik Lindberg was a Swedish engraver best known for his work on Nobel Prize medals — his presence on a Chilean banknote is unusual enough to warrant attention. The Casa de Moneda de Chile produced the plates domestically, but Lindberg's engraving work reflects an earlier era of contracting European craftsmen for prestige currency work, a practice Chile maintained well past the point when most Latin American central banks had moved to photomechanical printing processes.

The series ran across nearly three decades and an extraordinary rotation of signatories, spanning the final years of military-era economic management through the full democratic transition. The 1994 variant introduced a segmented security thread, a mid-series upgrade that was not applied retroactively, making earlier and later issues physically distinct despite sharing the same Pick number.
