Opmerkingen

Pick 155 is the 5000 Pesetas note of 1976, one of the highest denominations circulating under the final years of the Francoist monetary framework — issued the same year Juan Carlos I consolidated his rule following Franco's death in November 1975. The timing made it politically awkward: the design had been prepared under the old regime and entered circulation during a transition the state was still defining.

This example is catalogued as a replica. Replicas of this series are common in the Spanish secondary market, produced for educational and collector display purposes. They carry no redemption value and were never legal tender.
