A large, elaborate Gothic calligraphic initial occupies the left portion of the central field, integrated into the scrollwork underprint. The denomination "Fünftausend Mark" is set in bold Gothic blackletter type across the centre, accompanied by the series designation "Reihe 1", a serial number, the date Düsseldorf, 1. Februar 1923, and an embossed dry-stamp seal at lower centre bearing the issuer's name, with a manuscript signature of the General-Direktion to the right. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse carries a central allegorical vignette in which two male figures flank a large German heraldic shield: a semi-nude classical figure on the left holds a staff bearing the Imperial German eagle, while an armoured medieval knight on the right displays the flag of the Rhineland province. Both figures rest one hand upon the shield, and the composition is surmounted by a crested helm with an eagle displayed, the whole enclosed within foliate and thread-like decorative work. Large oval cartouches containing the numeral 5,000 are placed in the left and right margins. |
