备注

Turkey's Banknot Matbaası in Ankara had been producing domestic currency since 1955, ending a long dependence on foreign printers — De La Rue, Bradbury Wilkinson, and others who had handled Ottoman and early Republican issues. By the mid-1980s the 5000 Lira was a meaningful denomination, though chronic inflation was already eroding that. The series ran through 1988, by which point 5000 Lira bought considerably less than when the first notes were signed.

Worth noting for collectors: the P#197 series is common in circulated grades but noticeably scarcer in uncirculated condition, likely because these notes were actively used rather than saved.
