| Obverse description | Crowned and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the upper central field with the engraver's initials IRB below the truncation. The date 2000 is incised in large numerals flanking the portrait, divided left and right. The national arms of Zambia, featuring a shield supported by two human figures and surmounted by an eagle, appear in the lower central field.
