| Aanvullende informatie |
A mule — the accidental (or occasionally deliberate) pairing of mismatched dies from different coin programs — is rarely an officially acknowledged product, and Zambia's 2002 5000 Kwacha elephant mule is no exception. The Bank of Zambia issued a substantial volume of wildlife-themed commemoratives during this period, contracting production to multiple foreign mints simultaneously, which created precisely the conditions under which die mix-ups occur.
Documented examples are few enough that attribution remains contested among collectors of African commemoratives.
