Zambia's wildlife coin program has cycled through multiple international minting partnerships, and the zebra issues from this period were produced primarily for the collector export market — legal tender in name, but never intended for domestic circulation in a country where the kwacha was redenominated by a factor of 1,000 back in 2013, making a face value of 5,000 kwacha a largely symbolic figure on a bullion-adjacent piece.
