Opmerkingen

The "no top and bottom border" designation marks a printing variety within the P#60 series — a registration or plate variation rather than an intentional redesign, and one that distinguishes it from the bordered version collectors encounter far more frequently. Thomas De La Rue produced the full run of this series, a relationship Iceland maintained across several decades of note production.

The 5000 króna denomination was the highest face value in Icelandic circulation during the 2008 financial collapse, when the króna lost roughly half its value against major currencies in a matter of weeks — giving these notes a particular significance in the country's monetary history that no border variation can obscure.
