Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a panoramic cityscape of Kroměříž rendered in meticulous architectural relief, showcasing the town's most significant landmarks arranged across the upper field: the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with its prominent tower to the left, the Gothic Church of St. Maurice with its soaring twin spires at centre, and the Archbishop's Palace complex to the right. In the foreground, a formal geometric garden parterre with radiating pathways recedes in perspective toward the viewer, evoking the celebrated Kroměříž Flower Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The date 2023 appears in the upper right field, and the curved legend MĚSTO KROMĚŘÍŽ is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by the mint mark K.

Aanvullende informatie

Kroměříž — specifically its archiepiscopal château and gardens — was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998, one of the few Baroque ensembles in Central Europe to have survived the twentieth century essentially intact. The Czech National Bank's gold issues in this denomination have followed a consistent program of highlighting UNESCO-listed Bohemian and Moravian heritage sites, and Kroměříž earned its place on the list in part because the gardens represent one of the earliest and best-preserved examples of Baroque garden design north of the Alps.
