Reverse description The reverse features a large central oval mirror-polished field, evoking a reflective surface or water motif associated with Mazu, the Chinese Goddess of the Sea. Flanking the oval on either side are symmetrical decorative foliate and phoenix-feather ornamental sprays in relief. The Chinese characters '妈祖' (Mazu) appear in the upper field above the oval, and the denomination '5,000 KIP' is inscribed along the lower periphery in Latin script.
