Obverse description Right-facing laureate bust of Dante Alighieri rendered in high relief, his profile dramatically occupying the right portion of the field, with a large olive or laurel branch extending prominently across the left field. The commemorative inscription '700 The Divine Comedy' appears in stylized lettering at the lower left, marking the 700th anniversary of the poet's death. The legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' arcs along the upper rim, while '5000 FRANCS CFA' and the date '2021' are inscribed along the right rim. The antique finish imparts a rich, aged patina that accentuates the deeply struck sculptural detail.

Reverse description An elaborate, densely composed high-relief scene inspired by Dante's Paradiso, depicting a large bearded divine face at the center of the field, surrounded by a multitude of winged angels and celestial figures radiating outward in all directions. The angels are rendered in varying sizes and positions, creating a dynamic, swirling composition that fills the entire coin surface to the rim. A border of small spherical beads frames the outer edge of the design. The title 'paradiso' is inscribed in Gothic-style lettering along the lower rim, the sole legend on this face. The antique finish enhances the intricate layering and depth of the relief work.
