Additional information

Burundi's Leopard bullion series, launched in the early 2010s, was a deliberate attempt to position the country as a source of wildlife-themed collector silver in a market already crowded with South African and Congolese issues. The colorization was applied post-strike, a process increasingly common among sub-Saharan mint programs contracting European refiners — in this case production was handled outside Burundi entirely.

KM#24 sees relatively modest secondary-market velocity despite strong initial retail placement, largely because the series never achieved the distribution infrastructure of comparable East African issues.
