This is a licensed issue produced under the West African CFA franc framework, where several Sahelian states have long permitted private minting houses — primarily European firms like Bald Münze or B.H. Chad has been a particularly prolific participant in this arrangement, generating revenue from collector premiums rather than circulation.
Tony the Tiger, Kellogg's mascot since 1952, appearing on Chadian legal tender is a function of licensing agreements between the coin's actual producer and the brand owner — not any decision made in N'Djamena.
