正面描述 The national coat of arms of Burkina Faso occupies the central field, featuring a heraldic shield charged with a five-pointed star, flanked by two rearing stallions as supporters, with crossed hoes and an open book below. A scroll above the shield bears the legend BURKINA FASO, while a ribbon at the base is inscribed with the national motto UNITE PROGRES JUSTICE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs along the upper rim, and the denomination 5000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in large characters along the lower rim.

附加信息

Burkina Faso has issued coins through the Monnaie de Paris and various private minting houses under licensing arrangements that have little to do with domestic monetary policy — these large-format silver pieces circulate nowhere and exist entirely for the collector market. The Smilodon, an extinct genus that died out roughly 10,000 years ago, had no presence on the African continent, making its appearance on a Burkinabè coin a matter of commercial theme selection rather than any historical or regional connection.
