Chad has issued this piece under the BEAC framework, which grants the six Central African franc-zone states collective authority to produce commemorative and collector issues well outside the norms of everyday monetary policy. A 0.16 g gold coin at 40 mm diameter is a physical near-impossibility in solid metal — this is almost certainly a base-metal coin with gold plating or a gold-foil inlay, the nominal gold content existing largely as a legal and marketing fiction within the denomination structure.
