| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features an extraordinarily detailed ultra-high-relief close-up portrait of an owl's face filling virtually the entire field, rendered with meticulous engraving of individual feathers across the forehead, facial disc, and ear tufts. The owl's two large, intensely rendered eyes dominate the composition and gaze directly at the viewer, with a sharply hooked beak prominent at centre below. The legend HAUT RELIEF is inscribed vertically along the left inner rim, and the fineness and weight designation 5 OZ .999 AG appears along the right inner rim. An engraver's monogram is visible in the lower field. The antique finish enhances the dramatic sculptural depth of the design. |
