The Bank of Central African States issues commemorative coinage well outside the practical monetary needs of its six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo — which collectively use the Central African CFA franc as a shared currency pegged to the euro.
