| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Benin at center, featuring a quartered shield with a castle and ship's prow in the upper quarters and a palm tree and heraldic decoration in the lower quarters, supported on either side by leopard supporters and surmounted by a star above two curved horns. A ribbon below the shield bears the national motto in the legend: FRATERNITE JUSTICE TRAVAIL.
