| Reverse description | The reverse is struck in high relief to simulate the rugged, textured surface of a meteorite impact crater, with radiating ridges and undulating terrain filling the entire field in an antique finish. At the center of the composition, an authentic fragment of the Campo del Cielo iron meteorite is inset, its irregular, regmaglypted surface providing a striking contrast of genuine extraterrestrial material against the struck silver. The incuse legend 'CAMPO DEL CIELO' is engraved in plain Latin capitals along the lower rim, identifying the meteorite strewn field located in the Gran Chaco region of Argentina, from which the specimen originates. |
