BEAC's P#703 is part of the fifth-series CEMAC francs CFA, introduced gradually from around 2020 to align the six member states — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Republic of the Congo — under updated security specifications. Oberthur Fiduciaire in Rennes has been BEAC's primary printer for several generations of this currency, and the colour-shifting ink on this denomination reflects the ongoing pressure from regional central banks to close the gap with West African BCEAO notes, which had adopted similar features earlier.
The dual signature blocks — one for Bangui, one unlocalised — reflect BEAC's practice of issuing notes valid across all member states regardless of the national inscription.
