The BCEAO's 5000 Francs series running from 1977 through 1992 accumulated an unusually long roster of co-signatories — eleven distinct signature combinations are documented across the run, with Abdoulaye Fadiga anchoring the Governor position throughout, partnered successively by no fewer than ten different national directors. That instability on the left signature reflects the rotating chairmanship structure built into the BCEAO's founding statutes, whereby each member state nominates a national director whose tenure shifts with domestic political appointments.
The final pairing — Abdoulaye Koné with Alassane Ouattara — is the most collectible. Ouattara served as BCEAO Governor from 1988 before leaving to head the IMF's African Department and later entering Ivorian politics.
