The remaining thirty-six letters of the Armenian alphabet are inscribed in a continuous legend encircling the central device, running along the full periphery of the coin. A small decorative cross ornament separates the beginning and end of the alphabetic sequence. The overall design evokes the rich tradition of Armenian manuscript illumination and calligraphy.
