| Obverse description | The Greek coat of arms — a quartered shield bearing a white cross on blue — is depicted at centre, encircled by an olive wreath with berries. The circular legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ runs along the upper periphery in Greek capitals. Below the wreath, the denomination ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ 5000 is inscribed in two lines, with the date 1981 at the base of the field, flanked by two small dots. The design is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |
