| Beschrijving voorzijde | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, rendered in finely detailed relief. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 5000 DOLLARS encircles the effigy, with the engraver's initials IRB appearing in the field. The portrait, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, presents the Queen in a mature and regal representation consistent with its adoption on Australian coinage from 1999. |

The "Australian Trilogy" series was Perth Mint's attempt to push the boundaries of what a legal tender coin could be, combining rose gold alloying with a physically inset pink diamond — sourced, as Perth Mint has emphasized, from the Argyle mine in Western Australia's East Kimberley region. Argyle, which closed permanently in November 2020, produced over 90% of the world's pink diamonds during its operational life, making any coin incorporating its stones a finite proposition by geological fact rather than marketing decision.
Mintage for this piece was set at just 8 worldwide.
