Obverse description The obverse is printed in teal, pink, and multicolour tones, with the bank name in Arabic script across the top and the Sudanese national emblem at upper right. At centre, a circular vignette of the Bank of Sudan seal is flanked by ancient Nubian columns, with a vignette of the People's Palace at right. The lower portion carries a row of small vignettes illustrating Sudanese cultural motifs, a pyramid vignette at upper left, the denomination in Arabic numerals and script at centre, and two serial number prints in dark ink.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in salmon-pink and teal tones, with the English inscription BANK OF SUDAN and the denomination 5000 in large numerals across the top. The central vignette presents a detailed view of the headquarters of the Bank of Sudan, captioned in both English and Arabic below the building. To the left, a Nile sailing scene with a felucca is rendered as an underprint vignette, above a crowd scene, alongside framed panels of traditional Sudanese artefacts and a calligraphic roundel at upper left.
