Obverse description Central field occupied by the imperial emblem of Qajar Persia: a passant lion facing left, holding an upright sword in its right forepaw, with a radiant sun rising behind its back. The lion and sun device rests upon a decorative platform supported by a stylized foliate base. The entire central device is framed by a wreath composed of an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. A fine beaded border runs along the coin's inner rim.
