| Obverse description | A portrait of the Jade Emperor (Yuh Wong) faces left at center, with the denomination numeral 5000 to the left and the coat of arms of the Hell Bank (冥通銀行) to the right. Serial numbers appear twice on the note alongside bilingual inscriptions in Vietnamese and Chinese characters. | Reverse description | The left half of the reverse is occupied by a large guilloche oval vignette containing the numeral denomination 5000 above the word ĐÔNG, set against a fine lathe-work underprint. To the right stands a detailed vignette of a multi-tiered traditional East Asian temple or pagoda surrounded by trees, rendered in teal-green intaglio-style printing. The inscription ĐỊA PHỦ appears in a panel at the top center, and the Chinese characters 伍仟 are repeated vertically in the lateral borders at all four corners. |
