| Description de l’avers | Printed in blue on a polychrome underprint using a combination of intaglio (chalcography) and offset techniques, the obverse centres on an oval portrait vignette at right of Joaquim José da Silva Xavier, known as Tiradentes (1746–1792). The upper legend reads REPÚBLICA DOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRASIL, while the lower inscription carries CINCO MIL CRUZEIROS / VALOR LEGAL. The left panel carries the print number, serial number above, sequence number at centre, and the signature of the Director of the Amortization Fund below; the right panel mirrors this arrangement with the sequence number above, print number and serial number at centre, and the signature of the Finance Minister below. |
