| 表面の説明 | A ration card sheet printed in red on thin paper, divided into a grid of individual detachable coupons in denominations ranging from 10 to 800, each bearing the inscription 'ЎЗБЕКИСТОН РЕСПУБЛИКАСИ' and the word 'КУПОН' with the respective value. At the centre of the sheet, a large overprint panel states '5000 КУПОНГА КАРТОЧКА' with fields for the organisation name, surname, head of organisation, and chief accountant, above a faint circular official stamp. The overall layout is utilitarian, consistent with austerity-period ration coupon booklet design. |

The "coupon" series issued by Uzbekistan in 1992–1993 was never intended as a permanent currency. These notes were stop-gap instruments rushed into circulation after independence, while the country prepared to replace the Soviet ruble and eventually introduce the som in 1994. The word "coupon" in the denomination is itself the tell — this was transitional money, openly acknowledged as provisional even at the moment of issuance.
The 5000 denomination arrived late in the coupon series, when inflation had already made smaller values near-worthless.
