| Obverse description | The Polish state eagle — the crowned white eagle with wings spread, facing forward, displayed in high relief at the center of the field — serves as the principal device, engraved by Stanisława Wątróbska-Frindt. The date 1987 is divided on either side of the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '87' to the right. The denomination 'ZŁ 500 ZŁ' appears in large characters along the lower field. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, identifying the issuing authority as the Polish People's Republic. |
