| Obverse description | Within a raised border, a multi-line Latin inscription in the field, arranged in the style of a historical commemorative medal, recounting the biography of Władysław I the Elbow-high. The circular legend around the rim reads RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA and 500 ZŁ. At the base of the field, a small crowned Polish eagle serves as a mint mark, flanked by the date 2013. The engraver's initials MW appear within the legend. The overall design is modelled after the original 18th-century medal by Jan Filip Holzhaeusser. |
