Obverse description Within a raised inner border, a multi-line Latin commemorative inscription occupies the central field, recording Wenceslaus II as son of Bohemian King Premysl Ottokar III and son-in-law of Polish King Premysl I, noting his death in Prague in A.D. 1305 after five years of rule in Poland at the age of 33. The date 2013 appears in the lower exergue flanked by the mint mark in the form of the Polish eagle. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA runs along the upper rim, with the denomination 500 ZŁ divided along the lower sides of the outer border.

Reverse description A finely detailed, high-relief left-facing bust of Wenceslaus II (Wacław II Czeski), King of Bohemia and Poland, dominates the reverse field. The king is depicted bearded and wearing an ornate royal crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis and a cross finial, with long flowing hair and a richly draped mantle with a beaded collar visible at the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in a medallic style evoking historical royal effigies. The Latin inscription VENCESLAUS BOHEMUS. curves along the upper rim above the bust.
