| Obverse description | Central field features a large rectangular cartouche containing a multi-line Latin biographical inscription relating to Henry Valois (Henri III of France) as elected King of Poland, detailing his election in 1573, coronation in 1574, departure to France after barely five months in Poland, and assassination in 1589. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA and the denomination 500 ZŁ flank the cartouche along the coin's periphery. Below the cartouche, the date 2018 is displayed flanking the Polish eagle emblem. The overall design closely replicates the style of a historical commemorative medal, rendered in high relief on a polished gold field. |
