| Obverse description | The Polish People's Republic eagle displayed with wings spread occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathering; the date 1982 is divided by the eagle's lower body and talons, with '19' to the left and '82' to the right. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' runs along the upper periphery, separated by dot stops. The denomination '500' appears in large numerals at the base of the design, flanked by the currency abbreviation 'ZŁ' on each side. The eagle conforms to the standard heraldic type used on Polish People's Republic coinage of this period, facing dexter without a crown. The engraving is attributed to Stanisława Wątróbska-Frindt. |
