Obverse description The obverse is printed in dark blue intaglio over a salmon-pink guilloche underprint, with the issuer's arc inscription 'NARODOWY BANK POLSKI' running along the upper border beneath a central shield bearing the Polish White Eagle. The large numeral '500' occupies the centre of the note, below which the denomination legend 'PIĘĆSET ZŁOTYCH' is set in bold letterpress; serial numbers appear in red at upper left and upper right. A lower cartouche encloses the legal tender and anti-counterfeiting clauses along with the date '1944', all framed by elaborate acanthus scrollwork and fine lace-pattern guilloche borders.

Reverse description The reverse is executed in dark blue intaglio over a salmon-pink guilloche underprint, with the inscription 'NARODOWY BANK POLSKI' arching along the top margin. A large symmetrical foliate vignette fills the centre, formed by radiating guilloche work and stylised floral elements, against which the denomination 'PIĘĆSET ZŁOTYCH' is boldly lettered and the numeral '500' appears below within an ornate acanthus scroll frame. Decorative rosette corner devices and a continuous lace-pattern guilloche border complete the design.
