Reverse description The sixteen-petalled Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal (kikumon) is prominently displayed in the centre of the inner copper-nickel disc, rendered in high relief with finely detailed petals radiating from a central boss. The seal is encircled by a decorative wreath composed of camellia (tsubaki) branches bearing flowers, buds, and leaves, arranged symmetrically around the central motif. The surrounding nickel brass ring carries the commemorative legend in Japanese characters, reading clockwise from the top: 御即位記念 (Accession to the Throne Commemoration), and along the lower arc: 日本国 • 500円 • 令和元年 (State of Japan • 500 Yen • First Year of Reiwa). A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the outer ring.
