Reverse description Two sinuous, confronted dragons in high relief dominate the field, each depicted rearing upright with scaled bodies, clawed feet, and elaborately detailed heads facing inward toward the central inscriptions. The dragons' tails intertwine at the base of the design, and their bodies curve symmetrically to flank the central legend area. The commemorative inscription 沖縄復帰二十年 (20th Anniversary of the Return of Okinawa) appears in the upper central field, with the denomination 500円 in the centre and the era date 平成四年 (Heisei Year 4) at the lower centre between the dragons' tails. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border.
